thingは「物・事」と漠然とした単語ですが、「流行・うってつけ」のような意味もあ
ります。

これらのthingは「流行のもの」。

形容詞in（流行の）を前につけるパターンもあります。

■be the in-thing　流行している

■be just[quite] the thing, be the very thing　ぴったりのものである
