前置詞と名詞の間に形容詞が入るパターンです。

■by no means, in no way, not ～ by any means, not ～ in any way　決して～ない
＝　not ～ at all

■at first hand　直接に

⇔　■at second hand　間接的に

■in other words　言い換えれば
＝　that is (to say)

■at any rate, at all events, in any case　とにかく、少なくとも
＝　anyway, at least

このcost, priceは「犠牲、代償、代価」。
肯定文で可算名詞単数形に付くanyは「どんな」。

これらのspiritは複数形で「機嫌、元気」。

これらのshapeは「状態、調子」。

convenienceは「都合」。
