動名詞の慣用表現（１）

■What is the use[good] of ～ing?　～して何の役に立つのか
use, goodは「効果」で、反語的に使う。

■It is no use[good] ～ing　～してもむだだ

■There is no use[point, sense] in ～ing　～してもむだだ
このpointは「意味」。

■What do you say to ～ing?　～するのはどうですか　「勧誘」
What[How] about ～ing?

■There is no ～ing　～することはできない
＝　It is impossible to do
